Hello,
We have the following itinerary:
Tokyo: 4 nights
Kyoto: 3 nights
Nara: 3 nights
Mount Fuji-Hakone: 2 nights
Narita: 1 night.

Is the JR Pass a suitable pass for us?

Hi,
Given the length of your trip, you'd need to see the Mt. Fuji area as a day trip from Tokyo outside the pass.
For that, you should look at getting a Fuji-Hakone Pass.

For going Tokyo-Kansai round trip, it still leaves you a bit short of making a 7 day pass pay off. But there is more you could see and do there - take a day off of Nara and go see Himeji, with Japan's finest castle. That alone would do it.
After the temples of Kyoto close down around 5 PM, you can zip over to Osaka for the evening. At night the city comes alive and has some great places to see, such as Dotonbori, plus the night views from the Umeda Sky Bldg, and Abeno Harukas Bldg are wonderful.
On another evening, you could also go and see Kobe.

For getting to/from Narita, look at using the 1000 yen bus.

Good luck.
