Hi! Can my family (5 of us from Toronto Canada) using the JR Pass to take the Shinkansen (round trip) to go to Osaka (Osaka Nikko Hotel) from Shinjuku( Shinjuku Washington Hotel) using the JR Pass to take the Shinkansen (round trip)? Can we use the JR Pass to take a daily round trip to Kyoto during our stay in Osaka? Which station shall we go to take the Shinkansen from Shinjuku? Thank you.
Tokyo and Osaka trips in May and June.
Hi there,
There is no Shinkansen stop at Shinjuku station, instead you can get on the Shinkansen bound for Kyoto/Osaka from Shinagawa and Tokyo stations. These can be reached with local lines from Shinjuku.
The JR Pass covers all these lines/Shinkansen and you can travel as much as you like within the validity period of the Japan Rail Pass.
Hope this helps,
Daniel
