Hi there,

I tried to match a JR Pass to your itinerary but right now it would be better to buy normal tickets as you travel. This is because the amount of long distance travel is limited. For instance Tokyo, Nikko, Kamakura and Yokohama are all in the Kanto area and Osaka, Kyoto, Nara are all within the Kansai area and local travel within these areas is relatively low compared to longer distance travel such as Tokyo - Kyoto.

What you could do is see if you can group the longer rides within a period of 7 days and use a 7 day JR Pass. For instance:
March 11 - Nikko
March 12 - travel to Kyoto
March 13 - Kyoto
March 14 - Kinosaki Onsen
March 15 - Kanazawa
March 16 - Kanazawa
March 17 - Back to Kyoto and perhaps visit Nara as a day trip.

This way you could cover a lot of travel with only a 7 day JR Pass.

Hope this helps,
Daniel
