Hello!
I will on the 28th of April to tokyo and stay close to the Zoo in Taito Ueno.Vou to walk there for 3 days and want to visit the zoo, the park Ueno, Asakusa, tokyo city view, Akihabara, Odaiba, top seaside, Tokyo Tower, Roppongi Hills, Shinjuku and Shibuya.
Then I will spend a day in Nagoya and then I will spend 02 days in Kyoto returning to Nagoya on 05 May to Nagoya where I'll be for another 6 days.
I wonder if this route compensates for JRPass buy or not. I thought about buying the 7 days for sightseeing in Tokyo going to Kyoto and back to Nagoya and then walk with other means of transport in Nagoya.

Thank you

Hi there,

I think that it would be best to buy normal tickets as you travel with the above itinerary. The greatest part of travel costs is Tokyo - Nagoya - Kyoto - Nagoya which comes down to the following:

Tokyo - Nagoya ¥ 10,380
Nagoya - Kyoto ¥ 5,240
Kyoto - Nagoya ¥ 5,240

For a total of ¥ 20,860 which would not cover the price of a 7 day JR Pass (¥ 28,300). Of course a JR Pass could quickly become worth it if plans change but for now I would stick with normal tickets.

Hope this helps!
Daniel
