I want to travel from Tokyo to Nikko (spend 1 nights), then Hakone (spend 3 nights), and finally go to Kyoto (spend 4 nights). IIs it worthy to get the 14 days JR Pass for this trip and these places? If so, which are the trains I need to take?
Thanks for your answer

Best regards

Hi there,

It would depend on what you do after Kyoto. a JR Pass could certainly be helpful if you return to Tokyo, however if you stay in Kyoto then I would recommend buying normal tickets. Both Hakone and Kyoto are directly on the Shinkansen mainline and you can take a direct train to both from Tokyo.

Best wishes,
Daniel

Sorry i didn't tell you that first i will stay a few days at Tokyo, and after, once at Kyoto, I will certainly spend a day at Hiroshima and then return to Kyoto and Osaka. I won't go back to Tokyo at the end of my trip.
Will the JR Pass be helpful then ?

Best regards

Hi again!

Yes the JR Pass could certainly be helpful in that event! However I would recommend the 7 day JR Pass instead of the 14 day JR Pass. By using the 7 day JR Pass for travel from Tokyo - Kyoto ¥ 13,600, Kyoto - Hiroshima ¥ 11,090 and Hiroshima - Kyoto ¥ 11,090. This alone would pay for more than the pass itself and you would be able to make some good savings too.

Best wishes,
Daniel
