Should I use JR Pass to travel basically in Tokyo only?

Hi,

I'm planning for about 2 weeks in Tokyo this April for the first time and wondering if I should buy JR Pass as I plan to explore Tokyo only this time, maybe the furthest I'll go is Fujisan, then could you please advice if JR Pass still save money in that case?

I've never been to Japan and just heard everything is extremely expensive in Tokyo so just want to get my very budget pocket well prepared.

Many thanks and Happy new year!

Hello there and Happy New Year!

Travel within Tokyo is relatively low priced and I'd suggest paying for normal tickets if you don't play to make longer trips or use the Shinkansen.

Consider buying a Suica card which will make travel a lot easier for you :)

Hope this helps,
Daniel

Thanks a lot!

I will save the JR Pass option for next time!

Cheers,
Huong
