Hi,

I will travelling to Osaka very soon by next week.

I'm planning my itinerary :

Osaka Kansai Airport - Tokyo - Osaka - Kyoto - Osaka - Kansai airport

Can you please advise me is it worth it to purchase a JR pass? Can JR pass access to all the major tourist spot in these location?

Appreciate if I can get an advise.

Thanks you.

Hi there,

A 7 day JR Pass is worth it if at the very least you can include Osaka Kansai Airport - Tokyo - Osaka in your trip. These is the most expensive part of your journey and is where the JR Pass would be used best. From there, any additional travel would just go to your savings.

The JR Pass covers the urban JR Network in Tokyo and Osaka, these is enough to access most area's in each city. In Kyoto, the JR is limited to the west and south of the city.

Hope this helps,
Daniel
