Hi could you please help me to find the best way to travel this route?
As I understad it could be cheaper to buy Kansai JR pass and separate tickets to Hakone and Tokyo..Or if we are going from Kyoto to Hakone it would be more reasonable to buy a JR Pass for 7 days and use for days 1- 6?

Day 1 - we arrive at Kansai airport and go to Osaka
Day 2 - we go from Osaka to Nara in the morning and in the evening from Nara to Kyoto
Day 3, 4 - Kyoto
Day 5 - in the morning we go from Kyoto to Hakone
Day 6 - we go from Hakone to Tokyo
Day 7,8,9,10 - Tokyo
Day 11 - Tokyo Narita airport

It would be very helpful if you can recommend the type of pass we need for such trip and link where can we find costs for each trip and, what is very important, timetable\schedule of trains and stations, because it is important to understand what time we will be in each city so we can book the hotel properly. Thank you a lot!

Hi there,

Reading your itinerary, I would buy normal tickets for all of your travel and possibly look at day passes in Kyoto/Osaka/Hakone and Tokyo. In Kansai travel is not expansive between Osaka/Nara/Kyoto and its general best to buy normal tickets here.

You can find any route/time table via, its a great resource for planning your Japan trip. Also Google Maps is great if you want to find out if a hotel is close to a station.

Hope this helps,
