Hi,

Our family will be arriving into Japan via Osaka. We will be traveling by train from Osaka to Kyoto back to Osaka. Then from Osaka to Tokyo. We leave Japan via Tokyo.

would it be worth it to get a 7 day JR Pass to cover the Osaka-Kyoto-Osaka-Tokyo train trip or should we just buy the tickets as needed. Would like to travel first class.

Thank you in advance for your advice.

Hi there,

I would advise buying normal tickets for this itinerary. Kyoto and Osaka are very close together and a one way ticket is only 560yen! That would leave Osaka - Tokyo, this is around 16,000yen however this alone would not pay for a JR Pass.

Hope this helps!
Daniel
