Hi there
We're going to Japan on the second half of August ( 3 people ). We'll arrive in Osaka . From Osaka to Kyoto one way. Kyoto- Kobe back and forth; Kyoto - Nara back and forth ; Kyoto- Tokyo one way . Should we buy JR pass ? If yes may we use the Shinkansen Train ?

Hi there,
For this route I suggest buying normal tickets, the JR Pass is best used for longer distances. For instance a return Tokyo - Kyoto can quickly make a JR Pass pay of.
Osaka, Kyoto, Nara and Kobe are all within the Kansai region and travelling around them using local trains is pretty cheap.
I hope this helps,
Daniel
