Hi, this is my first time visiting Japan and I'd like to touch base on Osaka, Kyoto, Nara, Kanazawa and Shirakawa-go. However, I'd need advices as of how should the route be and many days should I spend at each location, also, of course, how do I fully utilize JR Pass? Which JR Pass should I get?

Preferably to spend 6D5N for all if possible.

Thank you in advance!

Hi there,

It is quite a lot to cover in 6 days but possible I think. You could do something like:

Osaka (1d) Kyoto (2d) Nara (1d). Travel to Kanazawa (1D) day trip to Shirakawago (1D) and travel back to Osaka late.

Most routes have direct trains. Only from Shirakawa-go would have have to take the bus back to Kanazawa and from there an express train to Osaka.

I would look at getting a Kansai-Hokuriku Pass.

Kind regards,
Daniel
