Hi there,

Let's have a look at ticket prices and find out:

Osaka - Hakuba: ¥ 11,890
Hakuba - Shinjuku ¥ 10,900
Tokyo - Nikko (return) ¥ 9,900

With this in a mind a 7 day JR Pass would help you make savings compared to purchasing normal tickets. This is assuming you use the train for all these routes. I must make note here that travel to Hakuba by rail is not always easy and there are different transfers. You may want to look at alternatives like an express bus too.

Finally, within Kansai you may also want to look at a Kansai Area Pass.

Kind regards,
Daniel
