I arrive 20 Nov. a.m. at Narita, need to go to Nara via Kyoto for four days, then to Kyoto for eight days, then to Shinagawa for one day, then 3rd December from Shinagawa to Narita. That's from arrival to exit being exactly fourteen days. Is the fourteen day pass my best option?, or individual tickets?. I may also make a trip from Kyoto to Osaka for one day. From Australia the fourteen day pass is quoted as $478.00. Thank you.

Hello there,

I would recommend a 7 day JR Pass if you would have made the return Narita/Tokyo Nara/Kyoto within a week, as the 7 day JR Pass is a great option here. However normal tickets for this route will cost less than the 14 day JR Pass, so I would suggest to sticking with normal tickets if you stay more than 7 days in Nara/Kyoto.

Hope this helps!
Daniel
