Hi there, I will be flying into Japan on a weekday, making my first stop at Hakone where I will stay for 2 nights and then spending another 2 nights at Shinjuku. It iwll be a 5-day trip. I have the option of arriving at the Haneda Airport and leaving from the Narita Airport. Would that be a better option than landing at the Narita Airport, in terms of time and costs? What rail pass should I use in either case? Many thanks!

Hi there,
Haneda is the better Airport for sure, it is efficient, closer to Tokyo and very modern.
Narita Airport is not bad but busies, takes longer to get to and travel costs are generally higher.
For this route I would just buy normal tickets.
In Hakone you could buy a Hakone Free Pass.
Hope this helps,
Daniel
