Hey,

I'm travelling for 21 days to Japan, in the last 7 days im planning to go to
Kyoto, 1 night at mt Koya, 1 night at Osaka and 1 or 2 nights at Shirahama.
I would like to know what is the best way to do it using the JR pass. I would prefer to finish in Osaka as my flight leaves from there
Thank you!

In addition, is it better to have the 14 days JR for the other days and no for the all 21 days? (to use individual tickets for koya, kyoto osaka and shirahama)

Hi there,

Kyoto, Osaka and Koya-san are all within the Kansai reagion and are relatively close, this also means that travel does not cost that much. So I would recommend buying normal tickets if you stay within Kansai. You could even make your base in one of these places and only make day trips.

A JR Pass can be very helpful if you plan on doing a bit more travel further away, such as to Hiroshima or Tokyo.

Hope this helps,
Daniel
