Hello there,

You could consider the 7 day JR Pass for travel to the Alpine Route. This is the only pass which covers the route. However do note that traveling to and from the Alpine route alone would not cover the price of the JR Pass and you'd need to do additional travel in order to make savings.

Also note that the JR Pass can used to travel to and from the Alpine Route, it does not cover travel on the route it self.

Hope this helps!

Many thanks Daniel
I'm not clear about thr jr pass
I have booking the super Azuza from shinjuku to Matsumoto on July 14
I try to find the way to ogizawa to start my alpine route and end up the trip at tateyama and take the ANA flight at yumoto
1 ) do I have to buy the jr pass to cover the super Azuza or not if I have to buy how to make it save
2) can the alpine route ticket buy online from oversea
3). If I buy alpine route ticket it mean I have the jr pass to use for jr yamanote in tokyo?
4)where can I fine the timetable of the train or bus from Matsumoto to ogizawa
Thanks

Hi Again!

1.) No you don't have to buy the JR Pass for this route, however it does cover the route.

2.) No, you've to buy it once you arrive at the Alpine route.

3.) The JR Pass covers the Yamanote line in Tokyo but I am not completely sure about your question.

4.) You can find time tables and other route information at Hyperdia.com.

Hi Daniel
Sorry for my unclear question
About the alpine route ticket if I buy that ticket does it cover or can use for the yamanote line or I have to buy another pack of jr pass
My friend ask me that why don't buy the 7 day jr pass it will cover the super Azuza so I'm not to buy the super Azuza ticket ,is that true ?
About the 7 day jr pass ticket can I refund the money if there is the rest in the ticket or if the money is not enough can I add the money
Many thanks

Hi Again!

Sorry I don't think that I completely understand your question.

The JR Pass is a pass valid for a period of 7, 14 or 21 days and provides unlimited travel for this period. For instance, you can get on the Azusa train without having the pay anything extra if you have a JR pass. The same applies for the Yamanote line.

You can't get a partial refund for the JR Pass, so make the most of it once you've activated it.

Hope this clears things up a little!
