Can I use the JR pass for rising tram and for ferry ride to Miyajima island, or would that require seperate tickets once arriving in Hiroshima? (I'm assuming separate.)

We're planning to do Hiroshima as a day trip from Kyoto.

Hi there - You can use the JR Pass on the Miyajima ferry from JR Miyajimaguchi station, however the Hiroshima tram within the city is not covered as it is not a JR operated service.

Hope this helps!

In my last trip to Hiroshima, I walked from the Peace Memorial Park to the road junction towards the west, crossed
over the river bridge and boarded the Tram to Miyajimaguchi , near to the Miyajima Ferry, with the JR Pass

The conductor did not collect any charges from me, and he even directed me to take the JR ferry to Miyajima island. .
What is the name of this tram line and why he did not collect any fare from me?
