Using the JR Rail pass on 1st February, hoping to travel overnight to Koyasan from Hagi. What would be best.
Either that or travelling the next day, 2nd February, best/ shortest/ least changes route. please.
This is to maximise stay in both Hagi and Koyasan. Thanks

Hi travel,

Traveling from Koya-san to Hagi is quite a long trip, as both places are remove and require different local trains to access. That said, it is a very nice trip to make on its own. It is best to leave early, so you arrive in time for dinner @Hagi.

Here are some example routes. The Shinkansen and local JR lines (in green) are covered. Purple trains, like the Nankai service are not included.

Hope this helps,
Daniel
