We will be arriving Japan on March26 thru Nagoya, then will take a train to Tokyo upon our 7pm arrival. Will stay in Tokyo until March 29, then will take a train to Osaka for our return trip to Manila. Is getting a JR Pass cheaper for our travel?
We are based in Bacolod City, how do we get the JR Pass? Do we have to send our passport to get it in Manila?

Hi there!

Here is the cost breakdown for you:

  1. Nagoya > Tokyo: ¥10,580 (126mins, 366km)
  2. Tokyo > Osaka: ¥13,550 (194mins, 556km)
  3. Osaka > Kansai airport: ¥3,340 (57mins, 64km)

JR ticket cost: ¥27,470 for 3 legs

The JR ticket costs will be about the same as a 7 day JR Pass, so I think overall I can recommend you go for the rail pass if you want to do any further travel as it will be free (see our map for full coverage information).

We can send your rail pass to the Philippines if you order online - please note that delivery to the Philippines takes 2 business days so if you place your order today you should expect to receive it by this Friday.

I hope this helps!
