What would be the best way to use our JRP to get from Kagoshima to Beppu? Is it possible to go across the region by Aso? How long will it take us?

Hi there,
You can take the Shinkansen up to Kokura and from there a ltd. express to Beppu. Unfortunately train tracks around Aso have been damaged due to a Typhoon and there is bus service instead. I think the best option would be to travel to Beppu and from there make a day trip to Aso.
