I would like to use my JR Pass to take the train from Kyoto to the Narita Airport to arrive at the airport by 3:30 on 1/12/2014 (December 1, 2014). Can I get a direct train or do I have to transfer in Tokyo? What time will the train leave Kyoto?

Hi there,
To get from Narita Airport - Kyoto, first take the Narita Express to Tokyo station. From there you may use the Shinkansen directly to Kyoto station. Trains depart every 30 minutes, so you'll have have to wait long.
