Hi. I will be travelling to Japan in December. I was wondering if it is possible to use the JRPass from Kyoto to Fukushima (visiting a friend) and from Fukushima, we are planning to head to Sapporo. Then, from Sapporo back to Tokyo, is there any nighttrain available? Please advice. :D
Kyoto to Fukushima, Fukushima to Sapporo and Tokyo to Sapporo.
Hi there,
The JR Pass is valid of all these places and you can make outstanding savings using a JR Pass compared to purchasing normal rail tickets.
There is no night train however.
Hope this helps,
Daniel
I see.... Would there be trains leaving every other hour every day for my destinations? And do i need to book the tickets days before, or i could just go YOLO mode with my JRPass? :D
Hi there,
Trains depart very frequently, most routes have at least one train every 30-60 minutes.
You can just hop on the train and YOLO if you like ;)
Personally I prefer getting tickets beforehand to secure seating (and kick someone out of my seat if they seat there without reason).
:D Okie dokie. Gonna get the JRPass and I might just follow your footsteps, and kick them out of my seat.. :P. Arigato Daniel-san, for your help.
