Hi there hoping someone can help me?!
My partner and I are travelling to japan in March and spending:

1 - 7th in Kyoto
7th - 12th temple near Oita
12th -17th Tokyo

Also planning on doing plenty of day trips from Kyoto/Oita/Tokyo but wanting to find out if
A.) Purchasing a rail pass is worth it in my case?
and
B.) if yes, would I be better of buying a 14 day pass and just pay for the extra 2-3 days of travel separate or purchase the 21 day pass?

Thank you any help would be appreciated!
Chloe

Hi there,

A.) A JR Pass would be already worth it with just Kyoto - Oita - Tokyo, let alone if you have many day trips planned.

B.) It would depend on how much you'd travel in the days that you would not have a JR Pass. The price difference between a 14 and 21 day JR Pass is only 12.960. This is a small amount and it quickly pays of for one additional week of travel.

Hope this helps,
Daniel

Thanks so much Daniel, I think we'll definitely go with the 21 day pass as it does seem more economical.
Cheers
