Hi,

We have 5 days and 6 nights (Feb 16-21, 2015)

Is it possible to do the following on the 7 day JP pass? I could not determine what night train options are available.

Feb 16 -land Kansai airport 4:30pm -travel to Kyoto
Feb 17- Kyoto touring
Feb 18 -Kyoto touring
night train to Hakuba (leave kyoto around 6pm?)
Feb 19th wake up in Hakuba hotel -snowboarding day
night train to Tokyo or stay second night in Hakuba?
Feb 20 Tokyo
Feb 21 Tokyo (we depart Haneda airport at midnight, so technically Feb 22 ;))

We already cut out Hiroshima and Miyajima :(. We are really excited to experience some temples, castles, hot springs, fine dining and royokan or minishusku type accommodations and hope we don't have to cut out too much more.

Thanks for any advice!!
Bree

Hi Bree,

This is certainly possible, however there are some things to keep in mind.

First, there's no night train from Kyoto to Hakobe - meaning that you'll have to make the trip by day. This will take around 5 hours of train travel but should leave you enough time to enjoy the snow if you depart early, or leave Kyoto late on the 18th. The JR Pass does cover the entire trip!

More on Hakuba can be found here.

Enjoy the snow!

Ok so that's why I couldn't find many options! Excellent, thank you so much Daniel!
