Hi there,

I recommend learning to plan with Hyperdia this way you can find any route/time table and more. Its a great tool for planning with the JR Pass. We also have a useful interactive map with all JR lines included.

Travel from Kansai Airport to Shibuya. Take the Haruka Express to Shin-Osaka (about 60 minutes), there transfer to the Hikari Shinkansen to Tokyo station (about 180 minutes). At Tokyo station transfer to the JR Yamanote line bound for Shibuya.

From Shibuya to Osaka. Take the same route back to Shin-Osaka station. From there use local JR lines to JR-Namba with a transfers at Shin-Imamiya station.

From Namba to Kyoto, travel back to Osaka station. From where you can use the JR Kyoto line to Kyoto :)

Hope this helps,
Daniel
