Hello, we are traveling over the following dates and wondered if the JPR was the best option for this itinerary. At this stage we were considering first class (splash out ! :)

Dec 18- Arrive in Tokyo Narita.

Dec 21: Tokyo to Hakone

Dec 23: Hakone to Kyoto

Dec 27: Kyoto to Hiroshima (will use ferry in Hiroshima)

Dec 29: Hiroshima to Tokyo

Thanks so much.

Hi there,

There's plenty of travel in your itinerary and you could make savings using a 14 day JR Pass. However I do think that going for a 7 day JR Pass for Dec 23-29th is the better options. This because local travel within Tokyo/Hakone does not cost a lot and you could buy a Hakone Free Pass as companion to your JR Pass. This way you will get the best possible savings and still cover all important travel with the JR Pass.

Hope this helps!

Hi Daniel,

Thanks so much for the advice, this really helps. You've stopped us just going for the longer pass! Cheers, Kfo.
