Hi,
I would like to ask few question before heading to Japan for our vacation next year I know it’s too early but I just wanted to iron up all things for my planner. I heard about JR Pass is worth it for long travels. Can anyone advise me if my itinerary is good and worth in using the 7days JR Pass.

1-5 - Arrival From Narita Terminal 1- Nagoya (we will be staying there for 5 days just in Nagoya) and What is the best transportation to use from Narita airport.
6-8 – from Nagoya- Sapporo (3 days. And on first day which is on 6th ,I will start using my First day of my 7days JR Pass).
9-14- from Sapporo- Kansai Region (Kyoto , Osaka, Tokyo- 6 days in this region but my 7days JR Pass will finished on 12th day. The rest I will buy normal ticket to use just around in Kyoto only.)
15-19 from Kyoto – Narita (5 days. My last area to stay since this will be the airport that we are going back to origin).

So, if I will start using my 7day JRPASS on the day going to Sapporo until I get back to Kyoto, it will be worth it right? Since Sapporo is quite far. And also, what is the advisable transpo I can use from Airport to Nagoya. And also from Kyoto to Narita for my last destination. Sorry it’s quite long but I’m hoping for some generous people to answer and help me. Thank you guys in advance.

Hi there,

Yes, a trip to Sapporo would easily pay for the JR Pass. A one way Nagoya - Sapporo alone is 34,540 JPY while the JR Pass for 7 days is 29,110 JPY.

The Pass also covers travel to Kansai Tokyo and Narita.

You can find exactly how much you can save: via our fare calculator.

Hope this helps,
Daniel

Thanks for the reply Daniel.

Do you think if it’s better if I rather head to Tokyo on 12th day. So I can still use and make it worth the last day of my JR Pass traveling in long way like from Kyoto To Tokyo. Then I will stay some more time in Tokyo , Narita or vise versa since these two places don’t spend much on train fare if I go either two. And Tokyo is near only to Narita Airport. Please advise

Hi again!

That would certainly work too. As you say, travel around Tokyo and to Narita Airport is not very expancive compared to the rest of your itinerary.
