Hello all,

I made a mistake in planning my Japan (Osaka, Kyoto, Nara and back to Tokyo) trip for 7 days to use the 7 days JR pass, its 8 days now and I am unsure which JR train pass to buy for a cheaper rate to travel between this few locations and back to Tokyo.
Is it worth-it to buy JR passes for sightseeing in Tokyo too?
Open to any advise. Thanks!

15-18 Mar Osaka (4 nights) - travelling from Narita airport to Osaka and Nara would be a day tour
19-21 Mar Kyoto (3 nights)
22-25 Mar Tokyo (3 nights) - plan to just buy metro train tickets and pay as we go, and train back to Narita airport on the last day.

Hi there,

Generally travel within Tokyo does not cost a lot and a JR Pass is better used for cross country travel. Looking at your itinerary as it is now, the best option would be to buy normal tickets for everything. If possible, consider re-planning a little so you can make the return Tokyo - Kyoto with the 7 day JR pass.

Hope this helps,
Daniel
