Hi there,

We are planning to travel to Japan for our very first time.
We are not sure if getting the JR Rail or JR regionals is beneficial for our 13 days trips.
We need someone valuable advise.

1st day - arrival late evening in the Haneda Airport
2nd - 4th day - stay in Ueno area
5th day - stay in Yokohama
6th & 7th day - stay in Numazu (Mt Fuji)
8th & 9th day - stay in Nagoya
10th & 11th day - stay in Kyoto
12th - stay in Tokyo
13th - back to Haneda Airport

Thank you.

Best regards,
Beetan

Hi Beetan,

I would advise a 7 day JR Pass and use it to cover travel from the 6th - 12th, assuming that you will travel to Numazu on the 6th. This would allow you the make the best possible savings and cover all, otherwise expansive, train travel.

It all looks good!

Hope this helps,
Daniel

If you can and have the energy, taking a visit to Kamakura (near Yokohama) would be well worth it. Also it's unclear why you are visiting Nagoya - the nearby Inuyama Castle is one of Japan's best, but Nagoya overall is the most boring of all the big Japanese cities. Seeing Himeji and Nara near Kyoto would be much more worthwhile. In the Tokyo area, taking a day trip up to NIkko would also be a very good experience.
