Inter-City Train Travel In Japan

I will be going to Japan for the first time this June with my husband. We are in our late 50s. We intend to take the train from:-
1) Osaka to Hiroshima
2) Hiroshima back to Osaka
3) Osaka to Sapporo
4) Sapporo to Tokyo

All these train trips will be done in 7 days. I would like to confirm:-
1) If the JR pass will cover the all the inter-city train travels of the 4 cities mentioned.
2) What are the names of the train stations in these 4 cities.

We appreciate your help and any advice that you may have as Japan is completely new to us.

Thank you.

Hi there,

The JR Pass covers travel on the Shinkansen bullet trains between all these cities and the station names are the same as the city names (only for Osaka is the Shinkansen station called Shin-Osaka).

I do recommend look at travel times using www.hyperdia.com, especially Osaka - Sapporo 10 hours + is a long ride and may be too much to do in a 7 day trip.

Hope this helps,
Daniel

Hi Daniel,

Thank you for your advice. We may stopover for a night in Hokuto to rest if that is the case.

Thank you once again.
