If we bought the 7 day JR pass can you use this over two weeks?

Hello,

Me and a couple friends are traveling to Japan on Feb 26 - March 13.

We are Snowboarding for the first week then will be doing a bit of traveling in the second week. My question is, if we bought a 7day JR pass would we have to use this in 7 consecutive days or do you have a 2 week period in which you can use this.

The reason I am asking is we need to travel up from Tokyo to Hakuba and stay there for 7 days then we start our travels for the next 7 days. If possible we would like to use the pass to get to Hakuba on 28th Feb, then not use it until we head off on our travels on the 7th March.

Is this possible? or will we need to buy a separate ticket to Hakuba then use the 7 day JRpass from the 7th March?

Any advice would be appreciated.
Cheers

Hi there,

The JR Pass is counted in consecutive days. Depending on where you will travel, it may be best to buy a normal ticket Tokyo - Hakuba and use the 7 day JR Pass after you finish snowboarding.

Travel to Hakuba is included in the JR Pass.

Hope this helps,
Daniel
