'Hi, I am taking the Shinakasen Hikari 470 from Kyoto to Kofu. I have to make a transer at Shizuoka Station to take Fujikawa 9 with only 8 minutes. We are a family of 5 and have big luggages. Please guide and show me the route as to how to make the transfer quickly in the station within the time limit. Many thanks!

Hi there,

While I don't have the station details at hand. I can give you a general description of what to do.

First you will want to make your way from the Shinkansen part of the station to the part for the conventional rail lines by doing through the ticket gates. There you will find electronic information signs telling you from what platform your next train depart. Then take the stairs or elevator down to the platform.

Transfers like these are generally well thought out and 8min should be plenty to make the transfer.

Hope this helps,
Daniel
