Hi, I'm going to be in Japan from early october until mid january, I'll be staying just outside of Osaka but I want to travel around the country as much as possible. I know the ideal solution would be to just buy 3 of the 21 day passes for the whole country but I can't afford it. 2 would be ok. Also do I buy a Tokyo underground pass here or wait until I get there? All advice and suggestions gratefully received!
Many thanks

Hi there,

You can buy as many passes as you like, just be sure to to activate your JR Pass(es) within 90 days after purchase. Here are the details.

As for an underground pass. These are around 750yen for a single day. You would need to do at least 4-5 metro trips in order to make savings. Keep this in mind when you plan for the day.

Hope this helps!
Daniel
