I need to travel to Kyoto on Sat from Hiroshima. Do I take the sakura to shin-Osaka and tthe hikari to Kyoto. Was just wonderering if this is the best option. Was trying to make the trip without changing trains. The schedule the hotel gave me didn't show a connection after 14:17 on the hikari.

Hi there,
Yes, that is the best option. There is one transfer at Shin-Osaka to the Hikari.
Alternatively, you can use a local rapid service from Shin-Osaka to Kyoto. However the comfort is not as good as the Shinkansen.
