Hello there,

The JR Pass covers travel to Itsukushima (also known as Miyajima). To get there from Hiroshima, take a local train to Miyajima-guchi and from there use the JR Ferry to Itsukushima. Miyajima is about 30 minutes away from Hiroshima, including the Ferry.

An other nice area to search for a Ryokan not too far from Hiroshima is Iwakuni.

Hope this helps,
Daniel
