Am arriving on May 1st and staying until the 10th. Was going to use the Narita Express to get in to Tokyo, will be in Tokyo for 3 days. Will spend 3 days going to Nara, Osaka and Kyoto then back to Tokyo, plus a day trip to Kamakura. Will be traveling with my son, who lives there so can't buy the pass and I was planning on taking Narita Express back to airport. You would think my son could help with this but not so much lol. So is a 2 week pass worth it? Is it good on trains in Tokyo? Is it going to be a problem that I have pass and my son doesn't? Thank you

Hello there!

I do think that a 7 day JR Pass could be helpful and help you make savings if you use it for travel to Kyoto - Nara - Osaka and back to Tokyo. Your son can buy normal train tickets at the same time when you make seat reservations, so you can sit and travel together without problems.

For local travel around Tokyo, after your JR Expires, I would recommend buying local tickets as travel around the capital is not very expansive. You could consider using a Suica card for this to make your travel more convenient.

Hope this helps!
