questions & answers: using the japan rail pass

help me thru this itinerary

help me thru this itinerary

Hello, please help me to make a decision, should I buy 7 days JR pass ticket or not, for this itinerary

27 - 28 Mar: Tokyo sightseeing (I will stay at Ogikubo)
29 Mar: Disneyland
30 Mar: Mt. Fuji sightseeing from 1 of lakes (can I use the JR pass to go to here? which lake better than Kawaguchiko?)
31 Mar: Osaka (if I buy 7 days JR Pass ticket, is that possible if I am going back home to Ogikubo at the same day? In what time the last train is)
1 Apr: Kyoto (same question above)
2 Apr: Hiroshima
3 Apr: Kawasaki (Fujiko F. Fujio Museum)
4 Apr: Mitaka (Studio Ghibli Museum)
5 Apr: back to Indonesia from Haneda

Thank you for the advise.
Warmest regards.

Hello there,

Yes, a Japan Rail Pass is highly recommended for your travel plan. Just think about this: the 7 day JR Pass is about the same price as a normal return ticket Tokyo - Osaka using the Shinkansen. From there any additional travel is basically free, think of Hiroshima, Kyoto, Kawasaki and more.

For travel to Kawaguchiko, please have a look at this map. Most visitors go to Kawaguchiko 1st and travel on the an other lake from there, or enjoy the local scenery.

It is possible to make a day trip to Osaka/Kyoto from Tokyo but keep in mind that this will add a lot more travel time than staying the night there.

Hope this helps,

Hi Daniel,

Thank you for your very useful answer.

Can I use that ticket to go to Disneyland, Kawasaki and Mitaka also? I just feel not confidence about that.
