we will be in japan the whole of July, and wondering if the JR pass covers the whole trip from Kyoto to Sapporo?
I checked at the hiperdia, looks like I will have to take a train NOZOMI to Tokyo- it's not covers by jr pass. right?

plus, is there any way I can take the whole jurney from Kyoto to Sapporo at night???

thank you for your attention and help !

Hi there,

This route is always a bit tricky to search this route in Tokyo. This is because the Nozomi train is not covered by the JR Pass but the Hayabusa train is covered.

When searching, leave the option NOZOMI / MIZUHO /
HAYABUSA (SHINKANSEN) off when travelling south of Tokyo but on when travelling north of Tokyo. There are no night Shinkansen services.

Hope this helps,
