Hi!

Would just like to ask for help...in november we will be going to japan via haneda, we have already bought our JR Pass here in Manila. My question is, we will be arriving in Haneda at 8pm and would like to go straight to kyoto..Will there still be local and bullet trains available? and will it still be 220mins of travel time (we will not be able to take the nozomi). Also when we arrive in kyoto will there be cabs stil or local trains and buses available?

Hello there,

8pm is quite late to arrive in Tokyo and still make the trip to Kyoto. Its likely not even possible. Trains stop service around midnight and its a 3 hour ride at Kyoto, that means the last trains are likely to depart between 9-10pm. You also have to travel from the airport to Tokyo station, which is around 50min.

All together I would recommend staying the Tokyo for the first night and then travelling on to Kyoto the next day.
