Hi there,

Looking at the legs from day 5-11 (a 7 day pass would only really make sense for this part of your journey), your costs in tickets will be:

  1. Tokyo > Odawara: ¥3440, (35mins, 83km)
  2. Odawara > Takayama: ¥12110, (239mins, 448km)
  3. Takayama > Kyoto: ¥9380, (191mins, 314km)
  4. Kyoto > Nara: ¥690, (49mins, 41km)
  5. Nara > Osaka: ¥780, (55mins, 48km)
  6. Osaka > Himeji: ¥1450, (61mins, 87km)
  7. Himeji > Osaka: ¥1450, (61mins, 87km)
  8. Osaka > Kansai airport: ¥2940, (57mins, 64km)

TOTAL: ¥32240 for 8 legs

As a 7 day rail pass is ¥28,300, it would make sense for you to buy a 7 day Japan Rail Pass for this part of your trip, making a saving of ¥3940, plus the added flexibility to stop off on the way, or perhaps add a day trip to Hiroshima into your plans.

Hope this helps!
