Hello

I am travelling to Japan in June/July for 21 days and have decided on getting a 14 day JR pass.
I am a little overwhelmed as to how many train stations and lines there are in Japan!

I will be using the JR pass for travel been Tokyo - Kyoto - Osaka - Hiroshima and back to Tokyo.

Can you tell me which is the nearest train station that I will have to travel to, to be able to access my JR pass?

(1) in Tokyo I am staying at the Hotel Sunroute Higashi, address - 7-27-9 Shinjuku Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo From what I understand, the nearest is Shinjuku station?
However, the nearest train station is Higashi Shinjuku. Can I use my JR pass here?

(2) in Kyoto I am staying at the Sakura Terrace the Gallery, address 39 Kamitonodacho, Higashikujo ,Minami-ku, Kyoto From what I understand, the nearest is Kyoto station?
Can I use my JR pass at this station?

(3) in Osaka I am staying at Daiwa Roynet Hotel Yotsubashi, address 1-10-12 Shinmachi | Nishi-ku, Osaka 550-0013 From what I understand, the nearest train station is Yotsubashi? Can I use my JR pass here?
If not, what is the nearest station?

(4) In Hiroshima I am staying at the Hotel Sunroute Hiroshima, address 3-3-1 Otemachi, Naka Ward, Hiroshima From what I understand, the nearest train station is Chuden -Mae? Can I use my JR pass here?
If not, what is the nearest station?

(5) On my return trip to Tokyo I will be staying at Tokyu Stay Shibuya - Shinminamiguchi Tokyo, address 3-26-21, Shibuya-Ku Tokyo. From what I understand the nearest train station is Shibuya? Can I use my JR pass here?
If not, what is the nearest station?

I thank you in advance for any information you provide me.

All the best.

Hello Cat,

1.) Higashi Shinjuku is a metro station. However it is not too far from Shinjuku JR and you could simply walk it.

2.) The JR Pass covers travel to Kyoto station, using the Shinkansen.

3.) Yotsubashi is a metro station and there is no close JR station. My advise would be to use the metro from Osaka station.

4.) Chuden -Mae, is a tram station. You can use the tram from Hiroshima station there. There is not closeby JR station though you can walk it in 20min from Hiroshima station.

5.) The JR Pass covers travel to Shibuya.

Hope this helps,
Daniel
