Hi,
I am wondering if I am able to collect my JR East Hokkaido Pass from Asahikawa Station? I am planning to travel Asahikawa to Sapporo on a local ticket but will only have about 15-20 minutes to catch the Super Hokuto train at Sapporo and don't feel that this is enough time to collect my pass in Sapporo.
collecting JR East Hokkaido railpass
Hi there,
I'm afraid that Asahikawa is not part of the JR East Hokkaido Pass and is not sold there. You would have to exchange it beforehand elsewhere or buy it at Sapporo station.
I do not think either that 15-20min would be enough time to go through all the paper work.
Good luck,
Daniel
Thank You Daniel-san for your reply.
Am I right in thinking that I could exchange my voucher for the JR East Hokkaido pass when we arrive at New Chitose airport?
Do you have any idea how long the paperwork might take? we would have about an hour available before catching a train to Tomamu.
My next question : if I reserve my train seats for the Sapporo - Morioka leg of our journey, can I collect them at Chitose airport, 7-8 days before the planned journey?
And can I reserve seats , by internet, before we leave home, using my exchange voucher when making the reservation?
Thank you again in anticipation of your reply.
