Can we purchase a JR Pass for personal travel after a work meeting?

Good morning! A co-worker and I will be coming to Japan for a work trip next week, which is from Tues-Thurs. We formally end our work trip that afternoon, though we have extended our trip by 4 days to sight see. Can we purchase the 7 day JR Pass for the 4 additional days we planned to stay for personal travel? I read that it says we cannot use the pass for work, but we will be finished and on personal time Thursday afternoon. We plan to travel to from Tokyo to Hiroshima-Osaka and back to Tokyo before we fly out Monday morning.

Hi there,

It will depend on what visa you enter Japan with. You can use the JR Pass if you would use a "Temporary visitor visa" any other kind of visa would not work.
