Hi

We are staying at Ikebukuro for our upcoming trip. Would like to know more information on the below queries.

1 From Ikebukuro - JR Saikyo Line - Shinjuku station - take Odakyu Limited Express Romancecar Asagiri - Gotemba station.
Can we use JR pass to board the Odakyu Limited Express Romancecar Asagiri?
Are you able to advise the price per adult for the Odakyu Limited Express Romancecar Asagiri if we cannot use JR pass?

  1. Can we use the JR pass to board all the subway in Osaka and Kyoto?

  2. Can we use the JR pass to board the subway to go to the Fifth station of Mount Fuji?

Hi there,

Can we use JR pass to board the Odakyu Limited Express Asagiri? No, this train travels parly on a private railway (Odakyu railway) and requires additional tickets. You can however use the Shinkansen and local JR lines to travel to Gotemba without paying anything extra. If you do want to use the Asagiri using the JR Pass, then an additional fare of aprx. 1460yen is required.

Can we use the JR pass to board all the subway in Osaka and Kyoto? The subway/metro is not included, however you can use local JR lines around most major cities. In Tokyo and Osaka, the JR Network covers most of both cities.

Can we use the JR pass to board the subway to go to the Fifth station of Mount Fuji? While the name may be a bit confusing, none of the Fuji 5th stations are train stations. They are mere stops for hikers going up any of the climbing trails. Its only possible to travel to them using a car or bus.
