Hi Daniel-san,

May I ask, which is the best way to travel to Mt. Fuji (Kawaguchiko Station) from Tokyo Station? Because I am planning to travel early in the morning because I wanted to maximize my time.

Also, from Mt Fuji (Kawaguchiko Station), I am travelling to Kyoto, on the same day. I am figuring out which option is possible and most time efficient using JR Pass.

Thank you.
Yoonjae

Hello Yoonjae,

I've made a detailed write up to visit Kawaguchiko here.

For your travel on to Kyoto, there are two options. Take the Fujikyu line back to Otsuki and from there travel to Tokyo or Yokohama to get on the Shinkansen to Kyoto.

Alternatively there is an express bus from Kawaguchiko to Mishima from Mishima you can use the Shinkansen to Kyoto. This bus is not covered by the JR Pass but may be slightly faster than taking the train all the way from Kawaguchiko.

Hope this helps,
Daniel
