Assistance - Best transportation option

Dear Sirs,

I will spend my 8 days holidays in Tokyo and Kyoto. In Tokyo, I will stay in a hotel in Ginza that is close to a metro station and Yurukucho station. I will arrive in Narita on June 11th at 2:20pm
and go from Narita to Tokyo, will travel from Tokyo to Kyoto on June 15th, from Kyoto to Tokyo on June 18th and from the Tokyo hotel (close to Yurukucho) to Narita on June 19th. My flight back is at 10:55am.

Based on the anove, I would like to receive some guidance on what is my best option. Should I buy the JP Rail or buy individual tickets? If I should by the JP Rail pass, should I buy for 14 days or 7 days and consider a different transportation such as metro to one of my trip to/from the airport? If I buy the 7 days ticket, what additional transportation do you recommend that I take?

Thank you in advance for your support.

Kind regards,

Hello Juliana,

I recommend using a 7 day JR Pass for your trip to Kyoto and one way between Tokyo - Airport, then for the 1 day that you do not have a JR Pass, buy normal rail tickets.

The JR Pass covers travel from Yurakucho. From there its only 3 minutes to Tokyo station where you can use the Shinkansen to Kyoto and Narita Express to Narita Airport. Yurakucho is also a stop on the JR Yamanote loop line, that stops at many major stations in Tokyo, so I don't think you'll need a lot of other transport outside of the JR Pass.

Hope this helps,
