Hi,

I will like to plan for a trip to Okukinu Onsen and I am planning to purchase the JR 7-day Pass for my travel. A check at Hyperdia indicates I need to take these lines travelling from Ueno station to Kinugawa-Onsen. Please advise if I need to pay additional fares for these lines.

1) JR Takasaki Line for Kagohara
2) Ltd. Express Spacia Kinugawa 3

Thanks!!

Hi there,

1.) Yes!

2.) No, this train travels partly on a private railway (Tobu) and requires an additional fare. You can however use the Shinkansen and JR Nikko line instead if you wish to travel to Nikko. The additional fare is around 1,500yen per person.

Hope this helps,
Daniel
