Hi,

we're in Japan from 2-13 July this summer. We'll be staying in Tokyo for a few days and will head down to Kyoto and Hiroshima as well. How many days should we spend in Tokyo vs Kyoto?

Also, should I buy a 7 day pass or a 14 day pass? I guess I can use the pass going around Tokyo as well? Also, we're flying in to Narita and out from Haneda, will I be able to use the pass for travel to and from these airports?

Thank you :)

Hello there,

A JR Pass is best used for the longer distances, so a 7 day JR Pass would suffice if you can cover Tokyo - Kyoto - Hiroshima - Tokyo with it in 7 days. It would also be the most cost efficient way of travel.

The JR Pass also includes travel to Haneda and Narita Airport.

Hope this helps :)
Daniel
