Hello, we’ll arrive and leave in KIX and we’re planning to get the 7-day pass. We’re staying in Japan for 8 days which means will we have an extra day where there will be no rail pass. Would you recommend to us to get an Icoca/Haruka ticket so that there will be a discount or should we just buy a Haruka ticket? Also, we will also go to Tokyo so would you choose Icoca or Suica? Does Icoca/Suica accepted in Tokyo/Osaka? Can we reserve seats outside Japan when we get the voucher? Additional: We will be travelling during the first week of January which can turn out busy

Hello there,

Where are you traveling to after arriving? There are various discount tickets available to cities like Osaka, Kyoto and Kobe from Kansai Airport. The Haruka ticket is the best if you go to Kyoto. The ICOCA card can be used all over Japan where IC cards are accepted.

It's not possible to make seat reservations outside of Japan. This could be a problem in the first week of January and I would advise doing so on the day of arrival.

Hope this helps,
Daniel
