Hi

I was planning a 2.5 weeks travel in Japan. Was wondering what pass should I be getting for this itinerary below?

Day 1 Tokyo
Day 2 Tokyo
Day 3 Tokyo
Day 4 Tokyo
Day 5 Nikko
Day 6 Kawaguchiko
Day 7 Nagoya
Day 8 Takayama
Day 9 Takayama
Day 10 Shirakawa-Go
Day 11 Kanazawa
Day 12 Kyoto
Day 13 Kyoto
Day 14 Kyoto
Day 15 Nara
Day 16 Himeji/Kobe
Day 17 Osaka
Day 18 Osaka

Hi there,

I think a 7 day JR Pass would be great if you switch Kawaguchiko - Nikko around, then use the 7 day JR Pass from day 6 to 12. This way you would cover all the longer and expensive routes and make good savings in the process too.

Then you could use a JR Kansai 1-day pass for travel to Himeji/Kobe.
